 The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) has announced its intention to launch the National Cyber Security Academy in 2024 to enhance capabilities and digital safety and raise the level of cyber awareness among employees of government and private institutions.

NCSA has obtained the necessary approvals from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to establish the academy, which will begin its activity as a leading regional centre that combines theoretical education and practical training, allowing trainees to gain real practical experience in dealing with various digital threats.

The training programs that the academy will provide will include short-term courses and certificates of participation to develop employees’ skills in various sectors.

Marking the occasion, Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi said that the ministry is keen to enhance lifelong learning opportunities and make them available in various fields, including the field of cyber security, enhancing Qatar’s readiness to face modern technical challenges.

In the same context, President of NCSA Eng Abdul Rahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Maliki said that the academy will train and qualify national cadres and provide them with high professional skills following the best internationally recognized professional standards in cyber security. He added that the Academy will contribute to developing cyber capabilities and knowledge through research, development, and modernization of cyber security tools, policies, and strategies.

The academy includes several departments, each of which specializes in supporting many administrative and training activities and events, such as training courses, workshops, work sessions, and discussion meetings, in addition to a laboratory that simulates a cyber operations room that conducts interactive training for trainees that simulate how to carry out cyber attacks.

The National Cyber Security Academy aims to enhance the reality of cyber security and digital safety indicators in Qatar, contribute to the development of the cyber environment, and enhance awareness following the highest international levels, as well as contribute to achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030, especially in the field of human, social, and economic development.
